About the Role
PK Education are working with a secondary school in South Yorkshire who are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join their team from May half term. This is a full-time, long-term role, offering an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Science department.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Chemistry lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience. The role is suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging Chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Supporting students in developing a strong understanding of scientific concepts and practical skills.
- Preparing students for GCSE exams, focusing on knowledge retention and exam technique.
- Assessing and tracking progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and a safe laboratory environment.
- Contributing to the wider Science department and school community.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience.
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry.
- Ability to engage and motivate students across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
