PK Education are working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Rotherham to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher for a long-term position, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate DT specialist to make a real impact within a supportive department.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will join a committed team and contribute to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality DT lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or similar are welcome)
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress
- Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment, particularly within workshop settings
- Effectively manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives as required
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for DT
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply
