You Don't Need to Be a Qualified Teacher!
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll take responsibility for supervising secondary school classes when their usual teacher is absent. The work will already be planned, so you won't be expected to create lessons from scratch. Instead, you'll explain activities, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain focused on their learning.
What Does the Role Involve?
- Supervising students across KS3 and KS4
- Delivering instructions for pre-planned classroom activities
- Developing your confidence managing a classroom
- Supporting students with their work
- Building positive relationships with students and school staff
- Gaining experience across different subjects and year groups
- Following school behaviour and safeguarding policies
