We are currently recruiting reliable and enthusiastic School Kitchen Assistants to join our bank team, providing cover across a variety of primary and secondary schools throughout Milton Keynes, Aylesbury & surrounding. This flexible role is ideal for those looking for work that fits around existing commitments, with both short-term and long-term assignments available.

As a School Kitchen Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the preparation and service of nutritious meals while helping to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with basic food preparation and meal service.
  • Serve food to pupils and staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Prepare dining areas and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Support stock rotation, deliveries, and general kitchen organisation.
  • Follow food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Catering Manager.
  • Work as part of the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Suitable candidate:

  • Previous catering, kitchen, or food service experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work well in a busy team environment.
  • Good communication skills and a strong understanding of hygiene standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  • A Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in a school setting is an advantage.
  • Right to work in the UK.
