We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher to support primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional learning needs. The role involves teaching and supporting pupils both in-centre and through outreach to mainstream settings, helping them engage positively with learning, develop self-regulation, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to SEND and SEMH pupils
- Plan and implement personalised learning strategies and interventions
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENDCo, and external agencies
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, and interventions
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Job Requirements
- Qualified teacher status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
- Strong behaviour management and restorative practice skills
- Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
- Willingness to work across SEND/ SEMH schools across Birmingham
