We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN primary school team in Birmingham. This role involves working closely with an individual pupil to support their learning, development, and wellbeing within the classroom environment. Through the PK Pathway, we welcome both experienced candidates and those new to education who are eager to develop their skills with full training and ongoing support.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to a pupil with specific learning needs
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individual learning plans
- Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
- Adapt learning materials to meet the pupil’s needs
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children in a primary school setting
- Have knowledge of Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs
- Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
