Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in a specialist setting? A nurturing primary SEND provision in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support children aged 4–7 with Autism and communication needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a small, supportive environment, supporting a class of approximately 10–12 pupils.
Role:
- You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning and development by:
- Supporting the delivery of structured, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
- Providing targeted 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Supporting children’s academic, social and emotional development
- Creating a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Working closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to help pupils make meaningful progress
What we are looking for:
- Experience supporting children with Autism and communication needs (school or specialist setting preferred)
- A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliability, consistency and commitment
