PK Education is looking for an enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Newcastle upon Tyne. Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 is highly desirable.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children build confidence and make progress, with the potential to secure a permanent position after 12 weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher with classroom activities and lesson preparation.
- Provide individual and small-group support to help pupils access learning.
- Support literacy and numeracy development.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence and engagement.
- Adapt support for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom.
Requirements:
- A relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally within KS2.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues.
- A patient, reliable and proactive approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
