We re seeking a committed teaching assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Burton on a permanent basis.
Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Burton-on-trent
Pay: £100 per day
About the Role
As a teaching assistant you ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects to secondary students. You ll ensure classes run smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Support individual students particularly pupils with SEND, learning difficulties, or additional needs.
- Work with small groups help students with reading, writing, maths, revision or specific subjects.
- Support the teacher in lessons circulate around the classroom, explain tasks, check understanding and encourage students.
- Help with behaviour reinforce school expectations, keep students focused and help de-escalate situations when appropriate.
- Provide 1:1 support work closely with a particular student who may have an EHCP or require additional assistance.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Suitable for Cover Supervisors or experienced Teaching Assistants
