PK Education are recruiting enthusiastic PE Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Barnsley and the surrounding areas from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for sports coaches, Sports Science graduates, experienced Cover Supervisors and aspiring PE Teachers looking to gain valuable classroom experience. You don't need to be a qualified teacher!
As a PE Cover Supervisor, you'll supervise pre-planned PE lessons when the usual teacher is absent. Depending on the school's requirements, this may include practical sports sessions, classroom-based PE theory or general classroom cover.
The Role
- Supervising PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Supporting practical activities including football, basketball, athletics and other sports
- Delivering instructions for pre-planned lessons
- Encouraging participation, teamwork and positive behaviour
- Ensuring students follow health and safety procedures during practical activities
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining school expectations
- Providing general classroom cover when required

The Ideal Candidate

- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
