We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating rigid curtainsider lorries to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service. The position involves delivering goods in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of vehicle care and compliance with road regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, primarily rigid curtainsider vehicles, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet deadlines and optimise fuel efficiency.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle at all times.
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times, including safe manual handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with rigid curtainsider vehicles or similar lorries.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast-paced environment.
