The Restructuring and Special Situations Group advises large companies, governments and creditor groups in financially distressed situations. The group has been involved in most of the largest and most high‑profile reorganizations that have occurred in the last decade. In a restructuring transaction, a wide range of strategic advisory services are provided, including advice on recapitalizations, reorganizations, corporate valuations, exchange offers, distressed mergers and acquisitions and raising debt and equity capital. VPs in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group have the opportunity to develop a diverse and broad corporate finance skill set. Financial restructuring transactions are complex and involve multi‑party negotiations with a number of key stakeholders including, among others, the board of directors, management, secured and unsecured lenders and equity holders.
Responsibilities
- Helping to lead the origination and execution of restructuring transactions across our platform
- Frequent senior‑level interaction with clients and investors
- Developing detailed business plans
- Developing strategies to implement various restructuring transactions
- Evaluating financial returns to current and potential investors
- Attending key client negotiating and strategy sessions
- Managing complex and often time‑sensitive restructuring transactions from start to finish
- Participating in both internal and external client meetings, negotiation of contracts and other agreements, and due diligence sessions
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of work experience in corporate concentrated in restructuring, leveraged & acquisition finance or credit
- Fluency in English is required
- Bachelor's or Masters degree
- Strong qualitative and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to run client meetings and coordinate deal execution
- Strong written and presentation skills
- A desire to work in a team environment, often under tight deadlines
