Responsibilities include evaluating, structuring, and recommending financial and strategic alternatives, including the analysis of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic combinations, asset sales, and divestitures. Leading the day-to-day execution of transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and negotiation of contracts and other agreements; coordinating senior management and analyst materials. Analysing financial data and developments in financial markets important to the business of PJT Partners. Conducting research of targeted industries for investment purposes. Performing valuation analysis of prospective investment opportunities under consideration, including the assessment of financial risks. Comparing a company's financial data with other companies of the same industry, size, and location to forecast industry trends. Designing and developing quantitative models to assess the economic performance of targeted companies. Preparing written analysis and evaluations of investment opportunities for use by PJT Partners management and review by clients. Participating in both internal and external client meetings, negotiation of contracts and other agreements, and due diligence sessions. Mentoring and training of juniors. The Associate will be a critical member of PJT's expanding TMT team, with direct involvement in both deal execution and business development. Working on lean deal teams with direct exposure to the most senior practitioners, the role will span across a number of sectors and may require flexibility to work in sectors or countries outside a primary area of focus.

Qualifications include a minimum Bachelor's Degree, 2-5 years of relevant investment banking or corporate development experience, and experience with financial modelling, including developing detailed operating and valuation models for complex transactions. Full breadth of financing (equity, equity‑linked and debt) and strategic advisory experience is required. Knowledge of and experience in the TMT industry, specifically media, technology and related transactions is preferred. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, strategic and creative thinking, and distinguished written and oral communication skills are essential.
