Join PJ Hegarty as a Planner and play a vital part in shaping projects from the very beginning right through to completion. You’ll be at the heart of our teams, developing clear, well-structured programmes, resource plans, and logistics strategies that keep everything moving smoothly. Working closely with colleagues across Pre-Construction, Estimating, and Health & Safety, you’ll help bring ideas to life and make sure every project is set up for success.
Key Duties
- Prepare fully resourced tender, construction programmes, and logistics plans.
- Support bids, live projects, and post-bid negotiations through to handover.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Pre-Construction, Estimating, Build, Technical, Commercial) and external stakeholders (clients, consultants, subcontractors).
- Participate in reviews, client meetings, and risk assessments.
- Ensure site teams and contractors work to fully integrated, properly sequenced programmes.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contracts with engineers and surveyors to ensure accurate planning.
- Provide regular progress reporting, lookahead programmes, and updates in line with company and project requirements.
- Work on NEC contracts, producing and issuing cl.31, cl.32, and cl.62.2 programmes.
Requirements
- Relevant Third Level Qualification
- Previous experience as a Planner
- Experience with Asta Powerproject & Primavera
- Recognised Construction Related Qualification
- Experience working with a main contractor on large-scale projects with solid knowledge of Civil works.
- Familiarity with M&E and Fit Out would be an advantage, though not essential
- Enthusiastic, motivated individual
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use time productively, maximise efficiency and meet challenging work goals
- Possess ability to work well as part of a team and independently
