PJ Fire Ltd, part of CheckFire Group, is looking for an experienced and confident HR Business Partner to join our team at our Chesterfield site. This is a standalone, end-to-end HR role, ideal for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys autonomy while working closely with a Group HR function.
You’ll be the go-to HR expert on site, partnering with line managers, supporting employees, and delivering a high-quality HR service across the full employee lifecycle. You will be responsible for all HR activity at the Chesterfield site, including:
- Delivering a comprehensive generalist HR service from end to end
- Managing employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance and capability
- Coaching and advising line managers to build strong people-management capability
- Managing payroll processes and ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Implementing, reviewing and maintaining HR policies and procedures
- Using and developing HR systems, including supporting system improvements or implementations
- Designing and delivering HR and people-management training sessions
- Supporting and leading HR projects for PJ Fire as directed by the Group HR Director
- Ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and best practice
You’ll work closely with the Group HR Director, contributing to wider HR initiatives while maintaining strong ownership of the Chesterfield operation.
We’re looking for someone who is confident, practical, and comfortable working independently. You will have:
- Proven experience in a standalone HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist role
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law
- Solid employee relations experience
- Experience managing payroll and HR administration
- Experience implementing HR policies, procedures and systems
- Confidence delivering training and coaching line managers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- CIPD Level 5 Qualification
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or similar environment
- Experience working within a group or multi-site business
