Our Expertise:
At PJ Care, you’ll work in a 24-hour nursing team alongside a multidisciplinary group that includes:
- Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologists
- Physiotherapists
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Therapy Technician
- Engagement Coordinator
We care for individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions, including:
- Neurodegenerative diseases
- Functional Neurological Disorders (FND)
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Long-term and complex care needs
Key responsibilities:
- To support the clinical teams in improving the intellectual, physical and overall health of the residents.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes for resident activities which are multi-faceted, meet their functional needs, and reflect the interests of each resident.
- To organise activities programmes that will maintain interest and progression over a period ensuring that high quality, age appropriate, condition appropriate and best value activities are offered at all times.
- Working with unit-based Activities Champions to develop and implement the resident’s weekly programmes in consultation with key professionals.
- Implement planned opportunities; ensure these are accessible, equitable and available to all, ensuring a variety that caters for all abilities not just the more active/able.
- Collaborate with the Activities Engagement Coordinator on the alternate site to encourage and facilitate a coordinated approach.
- Ensure integration of residents across all units and cross site participation of all activities.
