This position is an excellent entry point for a recent graduate or for someone returning to a laboratory career after a break.
About Us
pixlbio is the result of a strategic merger between DefiniGEN Limited (UK) and Phenaros Pharmaceuticals (Sweden), bringing together iPSC expertise and AI-driven phenomics to accelerate pre-clinical drug discovery.

About You
You have a strong interest in laboratory science and enjoy hands-on work. With a good grasp of laboratory maths (volumes, ratios, dilutions), you can confidently prepare media and reagents. You are detail-oriented, organised, and eager to learn new techniques. Some experience with mammalian cell culture will be important, and familiarity with iPSC systems will be a bonus — but just as crucial is your motivation, reliability, and willingness to grow with the role.

- Carry out media changes on cell cultures.
- Run basic cell-based and molecular biology assays.
- Support Quality Control (QC) by collecting and processing samples as required.
- Monitor and manage laboratory stocks, ordering replacements as needed.
- Audit reagents to ensure they are in date; safely dispose of expired materials.
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Contribute to general housekeeping and cleaning within the lab.
- Accurately record experimental data in lab notebooks, spreadsheets, and systems (e.g., ODOO).
- Report issues promptly to project or line managers.
- Follow all Health and Safety guidelines.
- Provide occasional support with logistics, purchasing, and shipments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: BSc (or equivalent) in Life Sciences or a related discipline (Essential).
- Cell Culture Skills: Experience with mammalian tissue culture (Essential); previous exposure to iPSCs is desirable.
- Scientific Knowledge: Understanding of basic human cell biology and laboratory calculations (e.g., dilutions, volumes, ratios).
- Organisation & Communication: Strong attention to detail, excellent record-keeping, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Teamwork & Independence: Able to work effectively within a team as well as independently when needed.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn new techniques and contribute across different areas of the laboratory.
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge biotech company working at the intersection of stem cell biology, automation, and AI-driven drug discovery.
