We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Project Engineer with a strong background in Industrial Electronics and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) systems to support and lead engineering projects within a process manufacturing environment. This role is focused on plant-level project execution, control systems, and instrumentation reliability, working closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has real-world experience in a chemical or industrial plant, is comfortable working on the floor, and can lead technical projects from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute engineering projects within a chemical or process manufacturing facility.
  • Scope, plan, and manage capital and maintenance projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Manage project documentation, schedules, budgets, change orders, and technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors for project execution and installation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain electrical and instrumentation (E&I) systems.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize industrial control systems and instrumentation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control panel layouts.
  • Conduct field inspections, equipment evaluations, and participate in commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Support and maintain PLC-based control systems (e.g., Modicon, Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Work with SCADA/DCS systems to support batch or continuous processes.
  • Review vendor specifications and technical submittals for new instrumentation and controls equipment.
  • Define and support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for instrumentation systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment and instrumentation failures.
  • Support outage work and major maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify technical risks and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
  • 3–7+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Controls Engineer, or E&I Engineer in an industrial or chemical plant environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with industrial electronics and instrumentation systems.
  • Proficiency with PLC systems and industrial control logic.
  • Ability to work directly in plant environments and support 24/7 operations when needed.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
