What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain server-side code for various gaming projects, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game designers and artists, to implement new features and enhance existing functionalities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and a smooth gaming experience for users.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices in software development.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and contributing to the overall improvement of the codebase.
- Assist in the design and implementation of server architecture, focusing on scalability and performance.
- Monitor server performance and user metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimise gameplay experiences.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying new knowledge to improve server-side development processes.
- Document server-side processes and code to ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in server-side programming, preferably within the gaming industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with server frameworks and technologies, such as Node.js,.NET, or similar.
- Familiarity with database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for gaming and a desire to contribute to the creation of engaging gaming experiences.
