About the role
Due to increased demand for localized content, Pixelogic is looking for experienced Xhosa transcribers and Xhosa-to-English subtitling translators and QCers to establish a professional, high-performing collaboration as part of our language services department with the end goal of servicing our clients’ end-to-end projects. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, possess a flexible attitude, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. In addition, they must be able to work as part of a team that deals with changing priorities and workloads. Due to the sensitive nature of the delivery schedule, time flexibility is of paramount importance.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe and/or translate Xhosa-to-English or proofread/QC subtitle files using Pixelogic proprietary cloud based subtitling software
- Leverage in-house glossary tool for consistency across products as well as follow client style guide specifications
- Handle rejections/make corrections in files
- Remain current with industry trends, and adapt to evolving client requirements
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive content.
Requirements:
- Xhosa and English bilingual
- Knowledge of other languages is an asset
- Minimum of 1 year of translation and/or proofreading experience required
- Subtitling experience is a plus
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have demonstrated ability to accomplish work on a rigorous schedule (on-time delivery and flexible working hours)
- Ability to follow technical/style guide for multiple client content types
