Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent over a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!

As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers. We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!

The Role:

As a Senior Animator at Pixel Toys, you will live for motion, serving as a vital creative force tasked with bringing rich, expressive characters to life for a cutting-edge AAA mobile title. You will work in close partnership with our character art and technical teams to bridge the gap between static models and unforgettable personalities, utilising your expertise in both in-game animation and cinematic sequences. Beyond traditional movement, you will take ownership of the cinematography, crafting dynamic camera sequences and previz that define the visual narrative of our games.

You will be a champion for quality, driving yourself and those around you to deliver the very best, while ensuring that all assets are integrated seamlessly and managed with professional precision. You will be a technically-minded creator who is excited by the evolution of the craft, staying open-minded and eager to integrate motion capture, AI, and other emerging technologies into our pipeline. Your role involves navigating the complexities of dense keyframe data and the retargeting process, all while supporting an evolving technical workflow.

As a senior member of the art team, you will also act as a pillar of support for the Lead Animator, helping to maintain documentation and ensuring that our internal and outsourced production remains on track and of the highest standard. You won't just animate; you will contribute to the very foundation of our games, sharing your knowledge and providing technical solutions that help us push the limits of mobile hardware.

About you:

You will join us as a seasoned animation professional with a background in shipping high-profile AAA titles. Your showreel is a testament to your mastery of human anatomy, weight, and movement, as well as your sophisticated understanding of cinematography and camera work. However you are far more than just a creative; you are a technically switched-on 3D generalist who understands the broader CG pipeline and approaches every animation challenge with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

You are comfortable diving into the technical weeds of Unity or similar engines, and you possess the agility to adapt to new tools and workflows as the industry advances. In addition to your artistic talent, you are a positive and supportive teammate who thrives on collaboration and clear communication. You have an infectious passion for the medium and a natural ability to provide constructive feedback, whether you are reviewing internal work or guiding our outsource partners.

You'll be joining us as a self-motivated professional who is excited by the prospect of using mocap and cutting-edge tech to streamline content creation without sacrificing quality. Your commitment to excellence, combined with your ability to act as a mentor and a steady hand during development, makes you a vital asset to the team and a key player in delivering world-class entertainment to our players.
