Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent over a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile and VR gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!
As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers. We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!
The Role:
Join Pixel Toys as a Senior UI Artist and become a core member of our creative engine, responsible for translating high-level visions into high-end, entertaining games for mobile. In this role you will act as the primary point of contact for the graphical design, creation, and implementation of the UI and HUD across all our titles, working in lockstep with Art Leads to ensure every element aligns perfectly with the game’s style guide.
In our flexible and collaborative environment, you will have the freedom to inject your own innovative ideas into the mix, taking UI elements from initial conceptual sketches all the way to final, polished implementation in-game. Your day-to-day will involve managing platform-specific assets and screens, optimising layouts for consistency across a variety of mobile devices, and taking ownership of font selection and style generation for a global audience. You will collaborate closely with the wider team to ensure the interface is as intuitive as it is beautiful, implementing frontend and in-game HUD systems that provide clear, satisfying player feedback.
By utilising shaders from the tech art team and creating dynamic UI effects, you will continuously iterate on screen layouts and prototype new functionality alongside code and design teams to guarantee a smooth, clean, and world-class user experience.
About you:
You will join us as a seasoned UI specialist who brings a perfect blend of consistency, clarity, and creative flair to every project you touch. With extensive experience in a similar role, you have a proven ability to take end-to-end responsibility for both frontend and in-game systems, moving seamlessly from high-level graphic design to deep technical implementation within Unity.
You are a master of UGUI and the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects; which you use to build beautiful, intuitive layouts and flow concepts that define the player’s journey. As well as being a creative problem solver you are also an exceptional communicator who thrives in a collaborative team setting, bringing an infectious enthusiasm for the craft of making games.
With top tier technical implementation skills, you will ideally possess a strong grasp of contemporary F2P (Free-to-Play) UX design and modern game engines. Whether you are crafting custom fonts, working within 3D packages, or adding that final layer of "juice" through animation and effects, you are a proactive professional ready to raise the bar for UI quality. Above all, you are a passionate gamer who understands that a great interface is the heart of a great player experience.
