As a forward-thinking and innovative studio, we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers. We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!
The Role:
Join us at Pixel Toys and become the primary architect of our quality assurance efforts, taking full ownership of the testing lifecycle for our current title in order to ensure an authentic and seamless experience for players worldwide. Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of both internal and external QA professionals, skillfully coordinating resources and testing schedules across multiple global time zones. Through building positive relationships with stakeholders and customers, you will ensure that the QA department remains a central and trusted pillar of the development process throughout every stage of production.
With your strategic and technical mindset, you will help in defining and driving the overall QA strategy through various methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing, while overseeing the creation and management of comprehensive test suites and championing the adoption of automated testing initiatives to increase our testing velocity. Your expertise will be vital during the Live Ops phase of our Free-to-Play mobile title, where you will manage the delivery of first-party compliant releases to the Deployment and Release Manager for submission to the Apple and Google Play stores.
As a data-driven leader, you will proactively analyse testing metrics in order to identify critical trends and bottlenecks, providing the development team with actionable insights to optimise workflow efficiency. You will design and enforce high standards for bug reporting and triage, ensuring that communication remains clear and effective across all departments. You will work closely with the Production, Development, and Product teams, ensuring that every feature meets our rigorous quality and design standards, ultimately safeguarding the player experience.
About you:
You will join us as an experienced QA Manager or from a similar senior leadership role, specifically within the fast-paced mobile or Free-to-Play games industry. Experienced in managing geographically distributed teams, you will possess the leadership skills necessary to coordinate both internal staff and outsourced partners across various time zones. Your deep technical knowledge will include expert-level proficiency with bug tracking software like Jira and direct, hands-on experience with test case management tools such as TestRail.
You will also join us with a comprehensive understanding of the specific technical requirements for mobile platforms, including a thorough grasp of the submission and compliance processes for both the Apple App Store and Google Play. To drive our technical evolution, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in implementing and scaling automated testing frameworks that improve overall efficiency. On top of this, you are an exceptional communicator who can translate complex QA data into clear, prioritised action items, ensuring that stakeholders across the studio understand exactly what is needed to maintain our high-quality standards.
