As a forward-thinking and innovative studio, we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games, making them even more engaging experiences for our customers.
Join us as a Senior Server Engineer at Pixel Toys and play a pivotal role in developing robust and scalable backend systems, ensuring our server infrastructure delivers high performance and reliability. Collaborating closely with Designers, Artists, and other Developers, you will integrate and optimise game systems, contributing to the overall quality and functionality of the current game project.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of entire features and complex systems, leading planning and development from concept to deployment, ensuring technical excellence throughout.
- Profiling and optimising critical code, identifying bottlenecks and resolving compatibility issues to maintain the highest standards of technical quality.
- Performing thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback to uphold best practices and align development efforts with the project’s goals.
- Championing coding best practices across the team, advocating for robust, secure, and stable server infrastructure.
- Mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow and develop by providing guidance and sharing knowledge.
You will join us with a strong understanding of architectural patterns, coding standards, and modern development methodologies that guide engineering decisions. You are comfortable working with monitoring tools (such as Datadog, Kibana, and PagerDuty), ensuring server performance and system reliability. With a solid understanding of databases and cloud infrastructure, you are well-versed in applying security best practices consistently throughout the development and deployment cycle.
