Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We are now looking for a seasoned and strategic Production Director to lead the production efforts on an ambitious, large-scale game development project. This is a senior-level position reporting directly to the VP of Development, with a central focus on streamlining production processes, overseeing resource and capacity planning, and ensuring the project roadmap remains aligned with our long-term goals and creative vision.
This includes the development and adoption of best practices across Agile, Scrum, and "Wagile" methodologies. Monitoring production efficiency through key metrics and refining workflows will be essential to maintaining a high-performing development environment.
Working closely with the VP of Development, the Studio Head, and key publisher-side project leaders, you will help shape and manage the development input into the overall project trajectory. You will ensure that executional project details are seamlessly integrated into broader roadmap goals where you will closely track progress and proactively identify areas of risk and make the required adjustments.
On top of strategic communication and thorough documentation, you will prepare and deliver strategic reports that offer clear insights into performance metrics and resource utilisation. Resource and capacity management will be a constant focus; monitoring team workloads to maintain balance, avoid bottlenecks, and forecast future capacity needs based on evolving project demands.
This role involves close collaboration with Production Managers and the finance team in order to develop and track feature and content budgets, identifying and escalating potential budget risks while ensuring that all resources are deployed in a cost-effective manner.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the production framework of an exciting project from the inside out, helping guide it to success through clear strategy, strong leadership, and collaborative excellence.
Your extensive experience leading production teams within the games industry will enable you to be confident in offering high-level strategic direction, while trusting and empowering team leads to handle the day-to-day sprint execution. To do this effectively, you will maintain oversight of the broader project, while enabling others to deliver effectively.
You will come equipped with experience across pre-launch and live-operation phases, and a strong track record of managing complex, multi-team projects, ideally within large-scale, service-based game development environments. You will also be well-versed with Agile and Scrum methodologies, with hands-on experience implementing them across teams to improve efficiency and collaboration.
With a strategic mind, operational discipline, and excellent leadership you will be expected to guide teams toward excellence, mentoring senior team members and ensuring that processes support high-quality delivery at every stage. A background in executive-level project planning and roadmap management is also important, with the ability to align tactical execution with long-term goals.
Your communication and stakeholder management skills will be put to the test, working with both internal teams and external partners, including international collaborators. The ability to manage resources and budgets efficiently, while keeping production on schedule, is also key to success in this role.
Competitive salary, reviewed annually ~25 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays ~ Discretionary Bonus Scheme ~ Private Medical Insurance (including optical and dental) ~ Company Pension scheme ~ Staff training and development.
