About the role
Our client, the UK's leading supplier of hot rolled coil, is looking for an Electrical Inspector to deliver a complete range of engineering activities that keep the Hot Mill running at optimum output, acting as a key first point of contact.
What you'll do
- Understand electrical control systems, drives, and motors, diagnosing and rectifying faults quickly
- Carry out electrical installations
- Hold or work towards authorisation to issue permits on electrical systems
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety requirements and statutory duties
- React to engineering, quality, and safety issues promptly and effectively
- Contribute to activities that improve plant performance
- Work confidently both independently and as part of a team
What you'll need
- A completed apprenticeship with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 Electrical (or equivalent)
- Good technical knowledge
- Experience in a relevant role, with flexibility to undertake further development and training
- Fault-finding knowledge and experience on electrical systems
- Good understanding of electrical permit systems
- Experience on DC and AC control and drives packages
- Low voltage and/or high voltage authorisation
- Knowledge of PLC programs for fault diagnosis on plant end devices and instrumentation
