A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure delivery partner is seeking an experienced Planner to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. Working within a collaborative alliance environment, the Planner will support both pre-construction and live project teams by developing robust project programmes, monitoring delivery performance and supporting effective project planning across multiple schemes. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure programmes within a supportive delivery environment that values collaboration, innovation and long-term career development.
The Planner will be responsible for supporting estimating and project delivery teams to ensure planning standards are maintained and project objectives are achieved. You will assist in developing detailed construction programmes, monitoring progress and supporting delivery teams to manage risk, change and project performance.
Key Responsibilities- Support estimating and project teams to maintain high planning standards across projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes during tender, pre-construction and delivery stages.
- Assist in establishing construction methodologies, sequencing and work outputs.
- Ensure planning activities align with health and safety requirements.
- Assist with the development of tender programmes and programme reviews.
- Create visual or animated planning outputs to support project rehearsal and stakeholder engagement.
- Support collaborative planning processes with project teams.
- Monitor critical path activities and key milestones.
- Identify risks to programme delivery and support mitigation planning.
- Support weekly planning reviews and progress reporting.
- Assist in identifying and capturing programme impacts and delays.
- Support programme updates demonstrating the effect of change events.
- Provide planning insight to operational and commercial teams on risk, float consumption and delivery milestones.

- Experience working within a UK construction or civil engineering contractor environment
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery
- Experience supporting collaborative planning processes
- Knowledge of NEC or similar construction contracts
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 / Primavera Cloud and competence in MS Project
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex planning information clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
- Experience working on infrastructure or utility projects
