An established and fast-paced manufacturing operation in Kent is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support production reliability across a 24/7 shift environment. The successful candidate will provide both reactive and planned maintenance support across electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring equipment performance is optimised and downtime is minimised. The role plays a key part in achieving site operational targets while maintaining full compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, applying structured fault-finding techniques to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance activities on production and associated equipment.
- Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Assist in the selection and management of spare parts to ensure stock availability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects where required.
- Provide general facilities and site support as needed.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Rigorously adhere to safe systems of work, including isolation procedures and permit systems.
- Promote safe working practices amongst colleagues and contractors.
- Follow hygiene, quality and operational standards appropriate to a regulated manufacturing environment.

Production Support

Candidate Requirements
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship qualification.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding capability.
- Minimum five years' experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
- Sound understanding of safe working practices.
- Strong communication skills and team-focused mindset.
- Proactive, adaptable and self-motivated approach.
- Electrical HNC or equivalent.
- Experience working with PLCs and automated control systems.
- Exposure to high-speed production or packaging machinery.

- Experience working in temperature-controlled environments.
