The Role
A well-established, values-led building services contractor is looking for a skilled Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join their commercial team in Peterborough.
This is a hands-on, varied role covering installation, maintenance, fault-finding, repair and upgrade works on commercial heating and plumbing systems.
Projects range up to £1m in value and span commercial, retail, public sector and government properties including shopping centres, supermarkets, police stations and other secure facilities.
You will work both independently at client sites and as part of a collaborative wider team. Some travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.

- What You Will Be Doing
- Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial heating and plumbing systems
- Working on boilers, pumps, valves, pressurisation units, expansion vessels, controls and associated plant room equipment
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, system flushing, balancing and commissioning
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications and delivering work to project requirements
- Completing digital job records, certification and reports using company systems and mobile technology
- Supporting, mentoring and overseeing apprentices and trainees
- Attending site meetings and contributing to effective project delivery
- Ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations, company procedures and health and safety standards
- What You Need
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience as a plumbing and heating engineer or similar role
- Unvented Hot Water and Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations certifications
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems
- Full UK driving licence (minimum 6 months post-test)
- Willingness to travel daily and stay away when required
- Confident using IT systems and mobile technology
