Location: Hartlepool | Salary: £45,345 rising to £49,807 (inclusive of shift allowance) + quarterly bonus
About the role
Our client, a leading UK steel manufacturer and one of Europe's major pipe suppliers, is looking for an Electrical Craft Team Member to join their engineering team at the 20\" Pipe Mill. You'll provide first-line electrical expertise within a small, multi-disciplined engineering team, working a shift pattern of 12-hour days and nights (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off).
What you'll do
- Assist the engineering team with preventative and reactive maintenance
- Maintain Health, Safety & Environmental standards and safe working procedures
- Provide first-line technical expertise to identify and rectify faults, minimising plant downtime
- Suggest and implement improvements to process control systems, working collaboratively with peers
- Deliver high-quality, robust repairs that prevent recurrence
What you'll need
- A completed electrical apprenticeship or recognised electrical maintenance qualification (NVQ or similar)
- A problem-solving approach to your work
- Ideally, a background in heavy engineering manufacturing and strong interpersonal skills
- Industrial/domestic wiring
- Overhead cranes and associated safety systems
- AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings
- Awareness of safety-related control systems
