Summary of Position
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role provides an opportunity to join a leading aerospace firm in a dynamic and varied position. The primary purpose is to develop, support, and enhance manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced safely, to the highest quality standards, and as efficiently as possible.
You will be responsible for creating and updating production plans, providing shop floor support, designing tools to aid assembly, and contributing to initiatives that reduce costs and improve workflows.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and refine manufacturing instructions and methods.
- Utilise an ERP system to plan production processes and manage Bills of Materials.
- Work with design teams to create rework solutions for recurring repair needs.
- Plan and oversee metal coating processes (e.g., plating techniques).
- Support new product introductions by attending design reviews, identifying tooling requirements, setting up product structures in the ERP system, and analysing risks.
- Provide daily shop floor support to manufacturing teams, resolving production and testing issues.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings for machined components.
- Experience with 3D design software (e.g., Solidworks) for tool and fixture design.
- Knowledge of metal plating and processing techniques.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems (preferred).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., similar to BaaN) is an advantage.
