Pivotal is a strategic marketing agency that helps ambitious organisations make smarter decisions, build stronger brands, and focus on marketing that drives real commercial results. We don’t exist to “deliver tasks.” We partner with clients, challenge thinking, and guide them toward the activity and investment that will genuinely move the needle.

We’re growing - and evolving - and we’re looking for a Head of Marketing to play a critical role in shaping and leading our marketing delivery.

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role sitting at the intersection of performance, creativity and team development. You’ll lead the execution and evolution of multi-channel marketing strategies across Paid, CRO, Email/Retention and SEO, ensuring everything we do is commercially focused, results-driven, and of the highest standard. You’ll be responsible for driving performance across a portfolio of clients, while also building, mentoring and elevating a team of specialists. This is not a “management-only” role. It’s about ownership, accountability, and setting the standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the planning and delivery of integrated marketing strategies across Paid, CRO, Email/Retention and SEO
  • Owning performance - ensuring campaigns are delivering against commercial objectives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve results, efficiency and scalability across accounts
  • Bringing a strong design eye - ensuring all output meets a high creative and brand standard
  • Working closely with Account Strategists to align marketing activity with wider business goals
  • Reviewing performance data, providing insights, and shaping ongoing strategy
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of marketing specialists
  • Setting clear expectations, improving accountability, and raising the bar across the team
  • Contributing to new business through audits, strategy and pitch support
  • Continuously improving processes, output quality and ways of working

About You

You’re an experienced marketing leader who understands how to drive performance - not just activity. You’re commercially minded, detail-focused, and confident leading both people and strategy. You’ll likely be coming from an agency environment in a similar senior role. You’ll bring:

  • Strong agency experience in a senior marketing role
  • Proven expertise across Paid Marketing, Conversion Rate Optimisation, Email/Retention Marketing and SEO
  • A deep understanding of performance marketing and how channels work together
  • A strong eye for design and high-quality creative output
  • Experience leading, managing and developing a team
  • Confidence in reviewing performance, challenging thinking and driving improvement
  • A results-driven mindset - focused on impact, not just output
  • The ability to bring structure, clarity and accountability to a fast-paced environment

You’re not satisfied with “good enough.” You push for better - in results, in thinking, and in execution.

Why Join Us

As part of our dynamic team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of our marketing offering, influence how we deliver for clients, and play a key role in our continued growth.

Package

  • Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday allowance + bank holidays
  • A day’s holiday accrued each year of service
  • Paid day off for birthdays
  • Dog-friendly office
  • Team building events
  • Continuous learning and development (dedicated development days)
