We are looking for an experienced and organised Payments Supervisor to lead our payments function and ensure the accurate and timely processing of all outgoing payments. You’ll oversee day‑to‑day operations, support the team, and help maintain strong financial controls. This role suits someone with solid accounts payable or payments experience who is confident supervising others and improving processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily processing of supplier payments, employee expenses, and other outgoing transactions
- Supervise and support the payments team, providing guidance, training, and workload management
- Ensure all payments are processed accurately, on time, and in line with company policies
- Review and approve payment runs, bank uploads, and reconciliations
- Resolve payment queries and discrepancies, working closely with suppliers and internal teams
- Monitor aged creditors and support the month‑end close process
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce errors
- Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries
- Build strong working relationships across finance and the wider business
