Rate of pay

With a competitive salary offered dependent upon experience, paid monthly. You will be contracted to work 40 hours per week, however you will be expected to work extensively beyond these hours in order to fulfil the obligations of your position. You will be paid monthly by credit transfer to your nominated bank account.

Pension Scheme

After 3-months service with the company you will be automatically enrolled in the company pension (NEST), if eligible.

Holiday Entitlement

You will be entitled 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory days per year (entitlement is pro-rata for part time employees).

Job Description

You will report directly to the CEO and your core function will be responsible for the management and development of Security and Risk for all business operations, in compliance with industry standards, legislation, company policies, processes and procedures. In addition, you will ensure the security of our branch network is maintained, leading all investigations and prosecutions (where necessary) and liaising with external organisations to achieve this.

The successful candidate has a proven track record of success in managing risk and security alongside maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and can exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which risk and security plays within a successful business unit. The candidate will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • You will be a member of the senior management team and you will implement and maintain a strong risk and security framework to ensure the effective delivery and support for all people and locations throughout the group. This will involve working closely with other senior stakeholders within the group such as Finance, HR, Operations, Compliance, Fleet, IT and Sales.
  • You will head up the company’s crisis management team.
  • You will develop and cultivate strong relationships within the security industry and company alongside maintaining close working relationships with key stakeholders such as insurers, high profile customers and prospective customers in the pursuit of securing new business.
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationships with employees of the business whilst ensuring full understanding and compliance with following established security processes and procedures.
  • Be responsible to ensure that the company complies with the management and control of compliance to risk policy, legislation and industry standards in conjunction with other functional departments within the group.
  • Continuously review the company’s health and Safety policy and compliance with it alongside other members of the senior management team.
  • Ensure that the standards and values of the business are upheld at every level, 100% compliance and operational excellence.
  • To participate, in a senior capacity, in forward planning and the effective daily organisation of Pivotal and associated Group company activities, including business planning, policy setting, forecasting and strategic decision making where security and risk have a direct impact.
  • Attendance as required at industry events to profile the company.
  • Reporting directly to the CEO and Board on a regular basis – Presentation of High-Quality Board reports.
  • Provide advice and guidance to all business areas on security and risk.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met, investigations are commenced and concluded within a timely manner and ensure all evidence is compiled for all relevant stakeholders.
  • Budgetary control of the security and risk budget.
  • To ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed and kept updated in a timely manner of any security or risk related incidents and near misses.
  • In conjunction with the compliance department, ensure good governance in assessing customer suitability.
  • Effectively setting goals, objectives and procedures for operational teams in relation to security related matters e.g. unseen observations or suspicious activities etc. and ensure these are met and support those business areas that need additional support and guidance to succeed.
  • Ensuring company compliance for security and risk training e.g. Tiger kidnap training (this is not an exhaustive list).
  • Analyse current key systems throughout the branch network, review use, and recommend improvements for security and risk.
  • Keeping up to date with changes, developments and innovation within the security sector and making recommendations to the company for any improvements.
  • Conduct random and unannounced security audits on cash operating facilities.
  • Work with HR team to support investigations and collate evidence where necessary.
  • Promote and adhere to the Group’s culture and values.
  • To be aware of, adhere to, and implement any legislative requirements consistent with overall duties of this post, with particular regard to Health and Safety policies and procedures, Data Protection Act 1998 and Equal Opportunities.
  • Be innovative, provide new ideas and critical thinking
  • To undergo relevant training and development required by the CEO; and
  • To carry out any other tasks that will, from time to time be allocated by the CEO on an ad hoc or continuing basis, commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.

Personal Criteria

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant senior security/risk management experience
  • To liaise at a senior level with constabularies, regulators and industry bodies
  • Demonstrable security and risk management awareness
  • Sound experience at a senior management level
  • Ideally a law enforcement background preferred
  • Set and agree business strategy
  • Anticipate market changes and act proactively
  • To understand and comply with the legislation relating to our industry
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Respond quickly to security and risk threats
  • Strengthen business relationships and reputation
  • Commercial thinking regarding profit and loss
  • Have a high level of reliability, flexibility and a good team player
  • Excellent verbal/written and numerical skills
  • Observant, mindful and vigilant
  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to organise/prioritise own workload and that of the team
  • Open to varied working practices
  • Ability to build and lead a team

It would be essential for the successful candidate to have previous experience of working in a similar role and seniority with demonstrable experience in delivering excellence in operations.

Security Checks

The successful candidate will be required to undertake security checks prior to employment commencing, including a full checkable employment and education history, DBS criminal record check/vetting, financial credit check, driving license check and SIA licensing.
