We're working with a leading media agency looking to hire a Group Strategy Director into its London strategy team. This is a senior strategic leadership role working across a major flagship account alongside a small portfolio of other key clients. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of complex communications challenges, influence senior client stakeholders and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the business. They’re looking for someone who has grown up in media and communications planning and progressed into strategic leadership. You’ll need to be equally comfortable getting into the detail of a communications strategy as you are leading senior client conversations and developing the strategists around you. What they’re looking for: Strong background in media / communications planning, ideally gained within a network or large media agency Significant UK-market planning and strategy experience Experience developing integrated communications strategies across online and offline media Ability to translate complex business challenges into clear, compelling strategic direction Strong understanding of audiences, data, measurement and media effectiveness Exposure to econometrics / MMM and using effectiveness data to inform investment decisions Experience working with large and complex clients Confidence influencing and challenging senior and C-suite stakeholders Strong people leadership, with experience managing and developing senior strategists Experience within technology or B2B would be beneficial, but isn't essential This could suit an established Group Strategy Director, Senior Strategy Director or Strategy Partner, or someone operating at an equivalent level who wants greater strategic ownership and visibility. The key is a strong foundation in integrated media planning combined with genuine strategic leadership - rather than a purely digital, activation or client-leadership background.
