The Counseling Office Administrative Assistant will welcome all who enter the counseling office in the spirit of Christ, serve the needs of all counselors, and work as a team with other support staff in meeting the needs of students. This is a full-time position.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with course registration
  • Research and post college scholarship information
  • Assist seniors with college application needs
  • Schedule college rep visits and accommodations
  • Schedule student appointments for counselors
  • Help organize activities related to graduation
  • Order testing/office materials as needed
  • Help to maintain a neat and orderly office area
  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Talents

  • Ability to learn and utilize software applications relative to the job
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for counselor and student needs daily
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organization and problem solving

Qualifications

  • 3 -5 years’ experience in an office setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Support and adhere to codes of conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.

The working environment will be an office setting. The noise level will be moderate but may raise to loud when students are in hallways or in the office for an extended period of time. This position will sit, stand, stoop, and use extremities to work.
