About us: Pitcher Partners Newcastle is a Professional Chartered Accounting firm located in Newcastle West. Due to ongoing growth, we currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and driven Trainee to join the team and grow their career with us.
The role: As a trainee, you will gain valuable experience working with a wide variety of clients in a professional environment where you can apply what you have or are learning at university into practice. You will be provided with a mentor who will support and guide you on the tasks set to you, helping develop your skills. Extensive training, coaching, and personal development courses will be provided to assist you in establishing your professional career. You will become part of a fast-growing business unit with a broad client base, offering variety and unique advisory services. Our clientele has the broad accounting and taxation needs typical of a mid-tier practice, with opportunities for interaction across different business units. Our structure provides easy access to Partners, with work primarily for the team Manager.
If you have recently graduated, study support towards CA will be offered if not already attained. We seek motivated, self-starting individuals who embrace change and innovation, passionate about developing a career in professional services. The ideal candidate will be nearing completion of an accounting degree or have graduated in the last two years. Applicants must be Australian Citizens or PR holders.
We are particularly looking for:
- A confident demeanor and the ability to build relationships with clients and earn their respect
- Reporting skills – comfortable handling corporate, trust, super, and individual accounting and taxation compliance needs of moderate complexity
- Taxation & accounting technical skills – with an ability to demonstrate practical application of technical issues
- Problem-solving skills – able to think outside the box
