About the Role:

The Segments and Solutions team plays a critical coordination role across the organization—aligning Sales, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Solutions, Partnerships, PIRG, Data Operations, and RevOps around unified goals. By driving focus, enabling cross‑functional execution, and translating strategy into measurable impact, the team ensures that each segment receives a cohesive, intentional, and high‑performing experience from PitchBook. In short, they are accountable for accelerating growth, strengthening market position, and ensuring we consistently deliver value to the clients within their vertical.

The Global Segment Leader (GSL) is accountable for defining and driving PitchBook’s strategy and outcomes within a specific customer Vertical (Allocators, Banks, GPs, CSPO). Acting as the strategic lead and external face of PitchBook for their vertical, the GSL owns the segment perspective, identifies capability opportunities, sets growth targets, and ensures organizational alignment to deliver results. This role works cross-functionally across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Solutions, Partnerships, PIRG, Data Operations, and Revenue Operations to translate strategy into measurable impact.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify product capability gaps that would enable deeper penetration and growth within the client segment
  • Conduct market and client analysis to uncover unmet needs, emerging trends, and competitive threats
  • Represent PitchBook in client meetings, industry events, and strategic partnerships to strengthen market positioning
  • Establish structured channels for capturing and synthesizing the voice of the customer at the segment level

  • Collaborate with Sales leadership to align go‑to‑market strategies with segment‑specific objectives
  • Set revenue growth and client penetration targets in partnership with Sales and Finance
  • Define pricing strategies and product packaging approaches in collaboration with Marketing, Finance, and Sales leadership
  • Ensure segment‑specific vision, priorities, and customer needs are documented, communicated, and regularly updated
  • Provide recommendations for investments, partnerships, or acquisitions to close capability gaps
  • Monitor and synthesize competitor activity and segment‑specific win/loss dynamics
  • Partner with RevOps and Sales/CS leadership to shape actual cash value and churn targets, ensuring alignment with market realities
  • Collaborate with RevOps and regional leaders to define and refine target account lists
  • Coordinate SME resource allocation with leaders in Solutions, PIRG, Product, and Data Operations to support segment priorities
  • Represent the segment in company‑wide investment and resource allocation decisions alongside the VP of Segment Leadership and CSO
  • Participate in high‑impact client engagements to reinforce PitchBook’s strategic point of view
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in commercial leadership, go‑to‑market strategy, or industry‑specific roles within SaaS, data, or financial services
  • Deep understanding of private markets; direct experience in the target segment strongly preferred
  • Proven success in defining and executing segment or vertical strategies with measurable business impact
  • Strong executive presence; credible with C‑suite clients and internal stakeholders
  • Analytical rigor with the ability to synthesize data, market insights, and customer feedback into actionable strategies

  • Effective at driving cross‑functional alignment around strategic initiatives and priorities
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in‑depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
