Our client is an international private equity group with a specialist investment focus on natural resources and clean energy. Part of the strategy of the company is to strengthen operational and commercial support. We are working with the CFO to identify a Head of Finance to join this lean head office team.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement improvements to promote operational efficiency and maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Coordinate and plan quarterly preparation of fund financial statements, tax, regulatory, financial and investor reporting.
- Oversee portfolio company valuations in accordance with the specific pricing policies/requirements of the funds.
- Review complex legal agreements, including limited partnership agreements and portfolio company deal documents and summarise key terms for fund accountants and administrators.
- Oversee daily and monthly tasks which include posting general ledger journals, reconciling cash and positions, recording, and analysing investment transactions, and preparation of financial reporting packs.
- Key contact responsibility for funds’ audit, assist in the production of financial statements, manage timetable, and consult with fund administrators/auditors to meet tight reporting deadlines.
Qualifications
A qualified accountant with a UK recognised professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/ACMA), you will be initiative-taking and driven and able to work innovatively within a fast paced and deadline driven environment. You will be hands on, have exceptional attention to detail and a skill for developing a robust control environment. Experience of presenting commercial and financial information to peers and management.
8-10 years within a private equity backed/SME environment preferred. Experience of US GAAP and US investor reporting standards will be an advantage. You will also be proficient with MS Excel and have financial modelling skills.
