The Role

You’ll provide high-level strategic support to the leadership team, acting as a trusted link between senior leaders, internal teams and external partners. No two days will be the same. You’ll prepare senior-level briefings and presentations, attend key meetings, coordinate actions and help ensure decisions translate into progress. You’ll also support strategic projects and initiatives aligned with the businesses corporate plan, bringing together information, people and activity across the organisation.

This is a role that combines strategic thinking, stakeholder management, project coordination and exceptional communication, giving you genuine exposure to senior leadership and the wider regional economic development agenda.

  • Driving follow-through: Attend important internal and external meetings, capture decisions and actions, and work across teams to maintain momentum and ensure strategic decisions translate into delivery.
  • Connecting the organisation: Build strong relationships across the business, helping information flow effectively and ensuring priorities, expectations and next steps are clearly understood.
  • Supporting strategy and governance: Contribute to effective governance and cross-organisational projects, providing research, coordination and practical delivery support across key Corporate Plan priorities.
  • Managing stakeholders: Develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the public, private and academic sectors, including regional partners, local authorities, universities and other key organisations.
  • Keeping ahead of the agenda: Monitor regional, local and national developments, identifying issues and opportunities that could impact the organisations priorities, partners or delivery plans.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who has experience supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced, high-profile environment and who is comfortable operating across multiple priorities and stakeholders and being involved in influencing the political and economic agenda. You’ll be highly organised, proactive and commercially aware, with the confidence to make decisions, solve problems and work independently. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you’ll be producing senior-level reports, presentations and briefings and engaging regularly with influential stakeholders.
