Help shape the story of one of the UK's most ambitious life sciences scale-ups. Cancer is set to become the world's most expensive healthcare challenge by 2050. Today, 42% of cancers are diagnosed at a late stage. The future of healthcare depends on earlier, more accurate, more accessible testing. This organisation exists to make that future real.
With a bold vision of early cancer testing for everyone, the company has already achieved extraordinary traction. Now, the next chapter is about brand.
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Brand & Communications to partner directly with the CEO and leadership team to define, elevate and amplify a story that has the potential to change global cancer diagnostics.
The OpportunityThis is not a conventional marketing leadership role. This is about crafting a clear, emotionally powerful narrative around groundbreaking science — and ensuring it resonates with healthcare systems, political leaders, clinicians, patient groups, investors and the wider public.
You will take ownership of the company's brand strategy and communications agenda, translating complex genetic testing technology into compelling, accessible messages that drive credibility, influence and demand. You will lead how the organisation shows up — across media, digital, policy conversations, industry events and stakeholder engagement.
What You'll Lead- Develop and articulate a powerful master narrative that connects scientific excellence with real-world human impact.
- Build brand recognition and authority within life sciences, healthcare and policy environments.
- Engage senior media, industry and political stakeholders to elevate influence and visibility.
- Shape major moments in the industry and political calendar to maximise impact.
- Lead website evolution and digital storytelling to reflect ambition and clarity.
- Drive communications that support commercial growth, international expansion and investor confidence.
This role demands both creativity and strategic rigour. You must care deeply about how every aspect of the organisation's story is interpreted and understood.
Who We're Looking For:You are a proven brand builder (ideally) with experience in life sciences or other complex, emerging technologies. You have led marketing or communications functions within a scale-up environment and understand what it takes to create brand authority in competitive, regulated sectors.
You combine intellectual curiosity with commercial awareness. You are comfortable with risk — and disciplined about measuring it. You can simplify complex science without diluting credibility. You know how to navigate political and media landscapes and ideally bring established relationships within them.
Reward & Impact:The package reflects the strategic importance of this appointment:
- Base salary up to £100,000 depending on experience
- Annual bonus up to 10% linked to company performance
- Private health insurance, life assurance and additional benefits
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension contribution rising to 7% after three years
If you are motivated by building enduring brands, influencing systems, and shaping the public narrative around transformative healthcare innovation, we would welcome your application. This is a rare opportunity, send your CV over today for immediate consideration.
