Corporate Communications Manager in Birmingham

As it enters an exciting new phase of growth, they're looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to lead the development of compelling corporate messaging, supporting senior leaders and strengthening the organisation's reputation with key stakeholders.

This isn't a traditional PR role. It's an opportunity to become the voice behind an organisation with a significant regional impact—crafting executive communications, developing thought leadership and translating complex economic, policy and investment priorities into clear, engaging narratives.

Working closely with the Head of Media & Communications, you'll help define how the organisation communicates with government, partners, businesses and colleagues, ensuring every message reinforces its vision and strategic ambitions.

The role

You’ll sit at the centre of the organisation, providing strategic communications support across a wide range of high-profile projects and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering the corporate communications strategy to enhance reputation and organisational profile.
• Creating executive communications including speeches, presentations, briefings, opinion pieces and strategic messaging.
• Shaping and evolving the organisation's corporate narrative, ensuring consistency across all communications.
• Advising senior leaders on communications planning, messaging and reputational matters.
• Leading internal communications activity that keeps colleagues informed, engaged and connected to organisational priorities.
• Building strong relationships with regional partners and stakeholders to deliver joined‑up communications.
• Coaching and supporting a Marketing & Communications Executive, helping them develop and thrive.

About you

You’ll be an experienced corporate communications professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with exceptional writing. Comfortable working with senior stakeholders, you’ll know how to communicate complex ideas with clarity while building credibility across a wide range of audiences.

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience in corporate communications, policy, public affairs or a similar communications role.
• Outstanding writing and editorial skills, with the ability to simplify complex or technical subject matter.
• Experience producing executive‑level content, including speeches, briefings and thought leadership.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence advising senior leaders.
• A real interest in economic development and current affairs.
