Job Description
As a Director of Product Development, you will lead the Product Development team for Debit / Credit Processing in Europe, ensuring compliance with European regulatory obligations within Pismo's platform. You will monitor established rules and changes in the regulatory landscape from entities such as the European Central Bank (ECB), European Banking Authority (EBA), and other relevant bodies, and track industry standards, market trends, and technological innovations. You will map needs, insights, and feedback from current clients and prospects to inform product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of Debit / Credit Card Products aligned with European regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Continuously monitor regulatory changes and industry benchmarks to ensure product compliance and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering and business development teams to evaluate implementation approaches for the product roadmap (build vs. partner).
- Drive crossâfunctional collaboration with other teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure product quality, including nonâfunctional aspects such as integrity, resilience, and scalability.
- Understand and anticipate customer needs and market dynamics to inform product strategy.
- Apply critical thinking and articulate improvements in processes and products.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or 3+ years with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8â10 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6+ years with a PhD.
- 8+ years of experience with European regulatory standards and compliance frameworks, driving improvements and developing new Credit and Debit Card Processing products.
- 8+ years in Product Development and Management, specializing in the design and implementation of Credit Card Processing solutions for European financial institutions.
- Deep understanding of the European financial market, including product standards, business and regulatory aspects, industry trends, benchmarks, and evolving client needs.
- 5 years as Product Director, leading Tribes and Squads focused on the development and support of Issuer Processing Credit and Debit Card Products.
- Expertise in API integration and microservices architecture within Cloud Computing environments.
- Proven proficiency in product research and analysis, ensuring dataâdriven decisions and market alignment.
- Strong foundation in Regulatory Compliance and Industry Standards, primarily within the European financial ecosystem.
- Mandatory experience managing software engineering teams, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Fintech experience (desired).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (desired).
