Pirum provides a comprehensive set of SaaS products to capital markets to support securities financing trading. As a product company, the Product Management team is at the heart of defining and delivering the product roadmap. The Senior Product Owner role works very closely and collaboratively with product management colleagues, product development squads and senior engineering staff, focusing in particular on requirements, backlog, and delivery. The Senior Product Owner role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Define and maintain a multi-year Data & AI-roadmap aligned to Pirum’s strategic Data & AI product vision.
- Contribution to creation of sales and marketing materials, actively support external messaging to clients, and serve as a champion for Pirum’s Data & AI product vision. Ensure Pirum’s value proposition is clearly and consistently communicated to the market.
- Act as the primary intake point for all data-related product requests, ensuring that they meet intake criteria and are aligned to product strategy before entering the backlog.
- Lead Product Discovery by collaborating closely with clients and business solution stakeholders to identify automation, optimisation and high-value decision support use cases leveraging Pirum data assets.
- Establish clear guidelines for AI adoption, focusing on data privacy, reliability, “explainable AI” and monitoring.
- Ensure product requirements are articulated in high-quality Product Requirement documents at the appropriate granularity and detail, and rigorous spec reviews are conducted.
- Use data-driven prioritisation frameworks (e.g. WSJF, RICE etc.) to triage across backlog items, blending business value, time-criticality, risk-reduction, effort etc.
- Alongside the Tech lead (TL) and Engineering Manager (EM), ensure that prioritisation between features, quality (resiliency, security etc.), test automation, tooling, and tech debt follow the guidance and policy provided by CPO/CTO.
- Collaborate with the Technical Lead to ensure the backlog quality and readiness is maintained with appropriate granularity and grooming.
- Work closely with the TL, EM, and team to conduct effective sprint planning, backlog management, and drive for the best outcomes in terms of features, time, and quality.
- Ensure products are handed over to service delivery teams effectively and products are supported appropriately during their lifetime.
- Work with stakeholders to maintain positive working relationships with clients, related partners and external system vendors.
Skills, Knowledge & Attributes
- 5+ years’ experience as a product manager / product owner working in a variety of enterprise SaaS product companies with complex data centric products (financial services experience highly desirable), with diverse product management best practices experience. Proven track record of moving from “Ideation” to “Production MVP”.
- Product Leadership: experienced in detailed product discovery with clients, translating needs into clear product outcomes and requirements, product backlogs and prioritisation.
- Competence in navigating modern, centralised data architectures (e.g. Data Lakes or Lakehouses) and deep understanding on how to extract value from data to build refined, client-ready data products.
- Proven track record of delivering client-facing analytics or MIS dashboards that solve specific, measurable business problems.
- Mastery of AI tools which help the product creation process.
- Agile development leadership: Agile practices, trade-off decisions, backlog management, product increment planning etc.
- Technical Acumen: general understanding of product architectures, APIs, and software delivery processes and ability to partner effectively with engineering teams.
- Relationship management: developing and maintaining relationships at all levels and with all stakeholder types.
- Self-motivated, pro-active and autonomous, with excellent collaboration skills.
- Atlassian experience desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
