Duties & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and help maintain the Collateral Management roadmap (CCS Core, ECPOConnect, CDA) aligned to Pirum’s strategic vision, balancing client retention, revenue growth, and platform scalability.
  • Act as a key intake point for collateral-related product requests, supporting the assessment of requests against intake criteria and product strategy before they enter the backlog.
  • Lead Product Discovery by collaborating closely with clients and Business Solutions stakeholders to identify high-value enhancements, optimisation use cases, and eligibility improvements across the collateral lifecycle.
  • Ensure product requirements are articulated in high-quality Product Requirement documents at the appropriate granularity and detail, and rigorous spec reviews are conducted.
  • Use data-driven prioritisation frameworks (e.g. WSJF, RICE etc.) to triage across backlog items, blending business value, time-criticality, risk-reduction, and effort.
  • Alongside the Tech Lead (TL) and Engineering Manager (EM), ensure that prioritisation between features, quality (resiliency, security etc.), test automation, tooling, and tech debt follow the guidance and policy provided by CPO/CTO.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Lead to ensure the backlog quality and readiness is maintained with appropriate granularity and grooming.
  • Work closely with the TL, EM, and team to conduct effective sprint planning, backlog management, and drive for the best outcomes in terms of features, time, and quality.
  • Contribute to the strategic business case for cross-venue optimisation, including competitor analysis, commercial modelling, and phased delivery planning.
  • Support the commercial and technical relationship with key triparty partners, navigating joint delivery dependencies.
  • Contribute to the creation of sales and marketing materials and support external messaging to clients.
  • Ensure products are handed over to service delivery teams effectively and products are supported appropriately during their lifetime.
  • Work with stakeholders to maintain positive working relationships with clients, related partners and external system vendors.

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes

  • Deep domain knowledge of collateral management, securities lending, repo, and/or derivatives margining workflows. Understanding of triparty mechanics (BNY, JPM, Euroclear, Clearstream), eligibility schedules, optimisation engines, and collateral mobilisation.
  • 5+ years' experience as a product manager / product owner working in enterprise SaaS product companies in financial services, with diverse product management best practices experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing products serving large institutional clients (G-SIBs, Tier-1 banks, asset managers) where relationship management are critical.
  • Product Leadership: experienced in detailed product discovery with clients, translating complex operational and regulatory needs into clear product outcomes and requirements, product backlogs and prioritisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen: ability to frame product investments in terms of ARR protection, pipeline conversion, and upsell potential; experience contributing to business cases and investment decisions.
  • Understanding of regulatory drivers relevant to collateral management (e.g. UMR, Basel III, CSDR, T+1 settlement compression) and ability to translate regulatory change into product opportunity.
  • Agile development leadership: Agile practices, trade-off decisions, backlog management, product increment planning etc.
  • Technical Acumen: general understanding of product architectures, APIs (particularly triparty and venue APIs), data feeds, and software delivery processes, with ability to partner effectively with engineering teams.
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder environments with competing priorities across clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Mastery of AI tools which help the product creation process.
  • Relationship management: developing and maintaining relationships at all levels and with all stakeholder types, including external venue partners.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active and autonomous, with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Jira and Confluence proficiency required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
