We are looking for a technically minded and commercially aware Pirtek Stoke Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our service centre, mobile service technicians and workshop team. This is a hands-on management role for someone who understands the pace and pressure of hydraulic hose replacement, mobile service work, workshop activity and customer downtime. You will be the key link between customers, technicians, stock, service standards and business growth.

Key functions & responsibilities:- Oversee the daily running of the Pirtek Stoke Centre, including workshop activities, facility standards, opening times and general presentation.
- Manage work allocation across the Centre and mobile service technicians to ensure fast, professional and reliable customer service.
- Ensure only adequately trained and competent personnel work in an unsupervised role.
- Be one of the main points of contact at the operation.
- Ensure the operation of the Pirtek Centre and the MSSTs complies with UK/European legislation.
- Manage work allocation within the Centre and amongst the MSSTs to ensure good customer service.
- Ensure Pirtek UK operating standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure the Centre is well presented at all times and fully complies with agreed opening times.
- Ensure customer calls are professionally handled and out of hours the calls are diverted as appropriate.
- Ensure pricing of work is done fairly, consistently and to Pirtek UK guidelines.
- Be the Quality Management Representative to ensure Health & Safety, Quality Management and Environmental Management systems are managed and maintained to ISO standards.
- Provide technical and sales support to the MSSTs.
- Recruitment of MSSTs.
- Oversee training of MSSTs.
- Effectively supervise and appraise staff.
- Regularly assess MSST work on customers' equipment.
- Where necessary discipline staff ensuring employment regulations in terms of procedures etc are followed at all times.
- Ensure all equipment at the operation is fit for purpose.
- Ensure equipment is adequately maintained and where necessary calibrated.
- Manage stock control at the operation.
- Organise and hold regular staff meetings/safety briefings/tool box talks.
- Strong technical background in hydraulic hose assembly, mechanical engineering, plant, vehicle, industrial maintenance or a similar field.
- Experience managing, supervising or leading technicians, engineers or workshop/service teams.
- Confident understanding of mobile service work, customer breakdown response and the importance of reducing client downtime.
- Good communication skills, both face-to-face and in writing.
- Able to deal professionally with customers, complaints and operational pressure.
- Organised, methodical and able to manage competing priorities.
- Computer literate and able to learn job management, CRM and stock systems.
- Reliable, punctual, flexible and willing to support the team where needed.
- Previous experience as a mobile hose technician, workshop supervisor, service manager, depot manager or engineering team leader.
- Good technical knowledge of hydraulic hose assembly.
- City & Guilds 2340 or equivalent hydraulics/hose assembly training.
- Minimum three years' experience 'on the van' or in a mobile technical service role.
- Sales experience or customer account management experience.
- Experience working with ISO quality, health and safety or environmental management systems.
