Pirtek are a nationwide network of hydraulic hose professionals, helping to keep businesses from every sector moving, minimising operational downtime throughout the UK and Ireland. We are seeking an outgoing and competitive Mobile Engineer to service on-site hydraulic repairs throughout Medway.

We are looking for a self-motivated person who can work well as part of a team. We would prefer experience in a mechanical plant or engineering background and will offer training for the right person.

There will be an after-hours call-out roster which is on a 24-hour basis that you will be expected to undertake and includes weekends and bank holidays all year round. You will need to hold a full driving licence and be willing to complete an online driving licence check.

The central role will be to provide a professional On-site Hose Replacement Service to Pirtek customers. This role will include being part of a 24-hr ‘on-call’ rota with other franchise technicians.

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively promoting Pirtek products and services to existing and prospective customers throughout your given territory.
  • Maintaining the highest levels of health and safety practice including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment where applicable.
  • Day-to-day management of a Mobile Sales and Service Unit (MSSU) including maintaining sufficient stock levels, performing routine maintenance checks, and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Managing all Pirtek supplied documentation within the MSSU including technical and procedural updates.
  • Providing assistance to Centre staff within the franchise when requested.
  • Attending Pirtek training courses as requested by management.

Requirements:

  • Good personal presentation and adherence to Pirtek policies and procedures.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical ability.
  • Good communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to present yourself in a professional and courteous manner to customers and staff.
  • The ability to work unsupervised and within time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to engineering personnel.
  • Successful completion of the Pirtek Induction and Training programmes (based in Birmingham) and subsequent on-site assessments as requested by management.
  • Ideal person to have plant or motor trade background or experience with hydraulics.
  • Work experience in a technical/engineering environment advantageous but not essential.
  • Full driving licence required.
