We are seeking a Depot Assistant at our leading hydraulic solution and repair centre in Bedfordshire. The role involves delivering excellent customer service in operational and sales activities, ensuring prompt and efficient responses to sales inquiries, building customer loyalty, and enhancing our reputation for service quality. Responsibilities include:
- Providing friendly and helpful responses to customer inquiries to ensure satisfaction and improve service levels.
- Answering phones and assisting the Centre Manager in managing mobile engineers and vans.
- Maintaining professional appearance and using Personal Protective Equipment as required.
- Assembling hydraulic hoses per customer specifications.
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and sourcing products.
- Promoting Pirtek products and services to trade counter customers.
- Proactively selling to existing and new customers to meet sales and margin targets, and developing the customer base.
- Processing orders accurately and promptly to maximize sales and stock turnover.
- Logging and managing jobs through the Pirtek IT system.
- Supporting the Centre Manager with stock and distribution tasks.
- Ensuring the sales counter area is clean, well-stocked, and presentable.
- Using a company vehicle for product deliveries when required.
- Assisting mobile technicians both in the workshop and on-site.
- Performing general housekeeping duties within the centre.
- Demonstrating good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Possessing basic mechanical knowledge.
- Presenting oneself professionally and courteously to customers and staff.
- Having experience in B2B or trade counter work is preferred but not essential.
- Having a basic understanding of mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently within set timeframes.
- Completing any Pirtek training programs as required.
- Being computer literate, with good knowledge of MS Office.
- Having good manual dexterity and physical ability for hose assembly and stock control.
