We’re Hiring – Inventory Controller | Pirtek UK & Ireland

We’re looking for an experienced Inventory Controller to join our team and take responsibility for the accuracy, availability and effective management of our inventory.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager and working closely with Procurement, Operations and Finance, you’ll play a key role in:

  • Managing inventory accuracy and stock reconciliation
  • Monitoring stock availability and reducing nil-stock situations
  • Supporting demand planning and purchasing decisions
  • Managing stock levels within NetSuite
  • Identifying and reducing excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock
  • Monitoring supplier deliveries and outstanding orders
  • Working closely with our logistics partners
  • Improving stock-control processes and reporting
  • Supporting effective working capital management

We’re looking for someone who is analytical, highly organised and proactive, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve inventory issues before they impact the business.

Previous experience within inventory control, stock management or supply chain is essential, with experience in engineering, hydraulics or industrial distribution advantageous.

Manage and maintain accurate inventory records across Pirtek UK & Ireland. Monitor stockholding to ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained. Balance product availability against stockholding and working capital requirements. Monitor inventory movements and investigate discrepancies. Continually identify opportunities to improve inventory efficiency and accuracy. Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy within NetSuite. Identify and investigate unusual stock movements or variances. Ensure stock adjustments are appropriately investigated, documented and authorised. Support the development and implementation of inventory control procedures.

Overall Objective

The Inventory Controller will be responsible for ensuring Pirtek UK & Ireland maintains an accurate, efficient and appropriately controlled inventory, providing the product availability required to support the franchise network while minimising unnecessary stockholding and working capital.

The role will provide Procurement, Operations and Finance with accurate inventory information and proactively identify opportunities to improve stock availability, inventory accuracy, forecasting and overall supply-chain efficiency.
