Pirtek entered the UK marketplace in 1988 and has grown to become the number one provider of fluid transfer solutions and on-site repairs, specialising in hydraulic hoses, pipe fittings & couplings. Pirtek Europe has service centres and on-site teams working in Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands and the UK.

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic Mobile Sales and Service Technician (MSST) to join our UK operation to support the Sales department and drive business forward. The role involves servicing on-site hydraulic hose repairs in Northampton.

We are looking for a self-motivated person who can work well as part of a team. Experience in a mechanical plant or engineering background is preferred, and training will be offered for the right person. There will be an after-hours call-out roster on a 24-hour basis, including weekends and bank holidays throughout the year. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to complete an online driving licence check.

The candidate is expected to maintain the highest levels of health and safety practice, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment where applicable.

The day-to-day management of a Mobile Sales and Service Unit (MSSU) includes:

  • Maintaining sufficient stock levels within the MSSU as per a franchise supplied stock list.
  • Performing routine maintenance checks in accordance with the MSSU defect checklist.
  • Ensuring the MSSU is kept clean and tidy inside and outside.
  • Managing all Pirtek supplied documentation within the MSSU, including technical and procedural updates.
  • Providing assistance to Centre staff within the franchise when requested.
  • Attending Pirtek training courses as requested by management.
  • Good personal presentation and adherence to Pirtek policies and procedures.

Working Relationships:

  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Work with the existing team to promote and generate new business.
  • Engage with new customers and returning ones.

Work Experience:

  • Demonstrate experience in a hydraulics environment/industry.
  • Experience in an Engineering/Technical and/or Hydraulics environment is desirable.
