Pirelli Tyres, one of the leading international tyre manufacturers, is currently looking for a Motorsport Trackside Engineer. This is a perfect opportunity for an individual with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Motorsport looking for their next career move. The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Pirelli Motorsport team, with an understanding of how motorsport operates.
You will be involved in most aspects of tyre engineering, providing professional trackside support at race events in the UK and abroad. You will be passionate about motorsport and have excellent practical skills, gained in a Motorsport environment. You will be an experienced problem solver, possess the ability to analyse and interpret data as well as assess physical cases, and have the ability to provide clear reports in a timely manner, meeting strict deadlines.
Within the remit of this role, you will strive to identify and continuously improve performance through, for example, the development of tools/templates to improve the understanding of data. Your ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a variety of people across all levels, both internally and externally, is key. You will work with all motorsport functions and demonstrate professional behaviour, good teamwork, and respect for others at all times, working in accordance with Pirelli values.
The role will include:
- Providing a first-class, professional engineering service for Pirelli Motorsport requirements.
- Analysing and interpreting race data to promote continuous improvement in the brand.
- Producing clear, factual reports in a timely manner.
- Maintaining accuracy and resilience in a fast-paced, highly pressurized environment.
- Working effectively within the Engineering team and with other Pirelli motorsport teams.
- Taking initiative and solving problems through statistical analysis and regular liaison with colleagues, line managers, and race team representatives.
- Undertaking training and development activities to keep skills up to date.
- Undertaking any other activities necessary for the success of Pirelli Motorsport.
You will possess a relevant industry-related degree and have a minimum of 3 years' experience within a Motorsport environment. The successful candidate must be prepared for substantial worldwide travel, hold a current British passport, and have the right to work in the UK. You will be proficient in MATLAB and Excel. Applicants without the required experience and the right to travel freely need not apply. Any applicant not contacted within 7 days will be considered unsuccessful.
